Rose Tinted Lies

 

 

he'll give me the world

in a reality of peace

just so long as i promise

to always show his truth

a lie that pulls society along

for him to see in clear eyes

the drugs long faded

hours passing

that impurity can still

translate to a once forgotten

innocence he loved

in another’s soul

in another’s body

in another’s heart

the world is my gift

for ever present lies

keeping a tired smile

from fading into the storms

of expectation and demand

he'll give me the world
