QUI PRO Virtutes SEQUITUR

QUI PRO Virtutes SEQUITUR

A Poem by Charlie Bottle
"

Apocalyptic poem

"
Flying on the immense thermals of hate,

And gliding the updrafts of adverse fate,

The ancient dragon hunts the virtues,

Seeking to destroy it pursues,

Them in the recesses of humanity’s soul,

Where they exist still healthy and whole.

The beast pollutes the earth and times,

With fear, greed and uncertain crimes,

And the hatred produced feeds his power,

For he knows he has but this hour,

In our time though it seems, an eternity,

Goading his minions to show no mercy, nor pity.

Great is the sorrow and strife,

And, greater tales of grit are rife,

Of fear that’s into love transmuted,

And, humanities struggles are reputed,

To cause angels to beam in pride,

For our virtues, that bridge the great divide.
