Intro to Me!

This is me... A true story about me.

My name is C. Lee Battaglia and I love to read… I read so much that my Mom grounds me from reading and tells me to go do something else. I am 15 years old. I want to be a journalist when I'm older.

I hated reading when I was little because it was so hard for me… When I was two, I had a grand mal seizure that nearly killed me. After several hours, the doctors were able to bring me back, but I was unconscious for two days. Though I survived, my brain was compromised in that process. I did not start speaking until I was three, I could not tie my own shoes until I was ten, I was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD, and the neuropsychiatrists that followed my development said I'd never be a reader or a writer.

Today I read about six books a month and they are all over four hundred pages.

Soon after I read the Fablehaven series I decided I wanted to write. I contacted the writer Brandon Mull who encouraged me to follow my dream and I began this journey. I became obsessed with writing, so I bring a notebook or a computer everywhere I go and I write. I read, I think, and I write. And I enjoy sharing what I write. I also love feedback on my writings, as it helps sharpen my ideas and develop this new skill.

Most of all, I love to make others feel good. I like to make people laugh. I like to help however I can. I try to encourage others with positive energy. If I can make someone smile, I have accomplished something positive that day!
