Shared Bodies

Shared Bodies

A Poem by checkianout

"An amicable split"

You explained to your friends, to ease the guilt.
A split between two conjoined heads.

But still

I had become far too attached.
& what was severed, was too severe to stitch back.

A separation of flesh.
So you can carry me with you in the form of debt.

What is left?

A fraction of what was once a fully functional beating heart.
You have the remaining 96 percent.

Dude this was so good but you could have gone a more poetic route after 96%. I feel like you just gave into the feeling and that doesn't help you heal. It just leaves you stitched. Your flow and words were perfect i just feel like you lost it at the end.

Very deep, you can feel the pain behind this one.
I would have to say that my favourite part of this poem is;
I had become far too attached.
& what was severed, was too severe to stitch back."
Keep writing, you are very promising. Will definitely be anxious to read more.
