My Lord, My Life

I lay on the ground

My heart shattered in pieces

I cry out in pain knowing I can’t go on

You come and break the chains off that were knocking me down

You pick the pieces of my heart and put them together

I feel your presence

All my worries are gone

I feel light, as if a gust of wind could carry me

The dark no longer lifts me,

The light lifts me

I’m a new person in Christ

amen to that! when you write about your personal experiancses, hard as it may be, it comes alive and gives much stronger meaning. another good write! would like to see more of it :) dont be afraid to let go and be completely honest in your poetry, that's what it is here for. open your heart to ways of expressing yourself more. i really hope i didnt insult you by saying that. but i see lots of potential with you, as your poems are good, but i believe you can make them better. :)

Very good poem, but I would just tighten it up a little. For instance, the line, "You pick my pieces and put me together" is a little unclear, perhaps "pick up my pieces" was what you meant?
