Mirror Games

A girl stares at me

She has an almost pretty face

I admit to myself

Can it really be me?

Usually an ugly girl stares back

The mirror feeds me lies

Hope you got the message. I think that a lot of people aren’t satisfied when they look in the mirror. But really that’s just lies, there is beauty in all. I wrote a poem in hopes of this being heard. Please review.

oh, does this hit the mark or what???!!! Aint it the truth! I've always hated the person in the mirror...always so fat and ugly with plain features. It's only when I look at old pictures that I have a chance to think to...who is that pretty girl....was I ever that skinny, and gosh look at those remarkable eyes.

Life's cruel sometimes...especially in front of the mirror.

I can sooo relate to that. Concise and to the point. This poem hits home.

Loved this. And this is so true, there are so many beautiful people in this world that never seem to notice.

we don't always see ourselves how we truly look. Your mind and heart are over thinking what is truly in that mirror. this has been done well and your thoughts are clear.

I like how you say "an almost pretty face"... it hints that the person is rather pleased with herself but is struggling to see beyond the "self"... interesting write!

I like it this one a lot! I'm often amazed when I look at my reflection and I'm smiling, the reflection of the content woman I am today.
