One Stormy NightA Poem by ChelseaOne Stormy Night I walk in the woods Alone, my hand is not entwined with anybodies I am caught up in the lies I tell myself I’m ugly, fat, no good, worthless I take no notice, at the maddening weather The wind tugs my hair from behind, until it hurts The skies glower down at me, Black and blue, beaten, revenge they claim, Pouring rain upon me It pelts my face, Why? I drop to my knees Confusion sweeps me, My thoughts wander back to my slamming words No, no, no, no, I realize, these to be lies, Spoon fed to me from an evil force, I fight back, feeling the lord’s strength I’m beautiful, good, worth something I say these words, believing them for once Truly believing. © 2011 ChelseaAuthor's Note
