This road of mine

I wrote this when I realized that I chose an internship in a workplace that I thought I was deeply interested but it turned out that it really wasn't for me. But rather than regret it, I wrote this poem to remind myself that at least I chose what I wanted

I took a walk along this road of mine
And found that I don't care
If the road forks out into two roads
I'll just take whatever's there

Who's to say that I will regret it?
Who's to say I didn't try?
I took a road that I can now claim mine
Without even asking why

I took a walk along this road of mine
And found a lot about me
The tears I shed with shame
Is merely what's meant to be

Who's to say that I will forever be lost
Upon this road of mine
I know someday that I'll stand strong
With the knowledge that I'll be fine

I took a walk along this road of mine
And found love in strangest places
Where my road crosses with another
And seeing many faces

Some hurt me and broke me without a care
And tore my heart apart
But I'll be okay because there are those
Who helped me heal my heart

I took a walk along this road of mine
With such a predictable end
But my journey there is all that matters
And I will walk until I reach that end

Yes, it is similar to Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"... with a bit of a twist. Hope that's all right.

Hahaha!!! Yeah, somewhat like The Road Not Taken... But it's still the road of life that we are still talking about here but in different situation. It is a reminder to me that whatever I take, I should continue for lessons will be learned and experiences will be cherished.
