A Local Ad

I saw a local ad today,

It read

Wedding dress for sale

Never worn

I could envision the beginning

The flirtation

The happiness

I could see the dates

The romance

The uncertainty of the future

I could imagine the proposal

Asking for the fathers permission

Heart in his hand

I could foresee her emotion

Filled with love

'This is the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with'

I could view the planning

Trying the different cakes

Picking out the color scheme

I could hear the arguing

Little at first

But now a constant bickering

I could watch the fight

Tears are falling

Fists hit the wall

It's over

She stares at her closet

Looks at the dress she never got to wear

Each time, a reminder of what could have been

It's time

Never worn
