the Fox and the Mutt

the Fox and the Mutt

A Poem by Sams

The fox and the mutt

One snapping at the other’s heel

The fox leaps, he yelps and he kills

The mutt whines and slouches

The fox is the sky

The mutt is the mountain

The sky wails,

it blasts,

it beats the mountain’s side

The mountain is dug in,

It is chained

It is leashed

The mountain is

Wailed

And blasted

And beat.

The fox wants to touch the ground

And longs for birds

bunnies

Butterflies.

The mutt wishes to fly

Up away from the house

And away from the hand of man.

The fox snaps at the mutt

And the mutt whines

But there is nothing either can do.

Their fate is decided,

And their minds can not be remade.

This is a repeat post from my story Solom. In the story, I use poetry multiple times to move the story along. I wanted to upload this separately, because it is a poem and I'm really proud of it. If it doesn't make sense out of context, feel free to check out the rest of my story! Thank you so much for reading and have a great rest of your day :)
