TroyA Poem by SamsThis is a song that I wrote while not paying attention in math class a couple of months ago. It's about someone I used to be best friends with.
I've never been thirsty
Ever since I drowned Don't know how to swim Since the current dragged me down Swept up in the riptide Guess I shoulda known That once you're underwater There's no point in having lungs Keep my feet down, planted God knows I don't climb trees Not since all these broken bones stubbed toes and bloody knees Trust I learned my lesson You know that I believe There's no good that'll come from something I'll never need. I don;t sit by the fire Now that I've been burned Don't dare to poke those wicked coals ever since I learned I keep my distance stay away I know better than to stay stay and sit by the fire watch the flames grow higher douse it with the water that I don't need. Keep my feet down, planted God knows I don't climb trees Not since all these broken bones stubbed toes and bloody knees Trust I learned my lesson You know that I believe There's no good that'll come from something I'll never need. Outside, wind is blowing lightning, thunder rolls. boarded in the basement no one else here I'm alone No one here to hold me tight safely in their arms but how long would that ever last till they've up and left, and gone? What point is there to hold you back Why bother to believe? Who could ever let you close to them When all you ever do is leave? I keep my feet down, planted Hell knows I climbed that tree Couldn't even walk home with my bones and bloody knees Why couldn't I learn my lesson? Shot, I can't believe I deluded myself into longing for the one thing I didn't need
