“Nox, you just missed London!”

“Did I?”

“Yeah, she was just here to check in on us.”

“Huh. Did she say anything new?”

“Nope, just asked if we were doing okay. She really wanted to make sure you weren’t sad or upset here or anything.”

“Oh, yeah. What’d you tell her?”

“I said you’re not feeling sad or anything. Not feeling much at all.”

“Yeah. sounds about right.”

“Hey Nox, why don’t you ever feel anything? And how come I’m always so bored but you don’t wanna do anything ever?”

“I don’t know. Guess I’m just tired of feeling so much.”

“How can you get tired of feeling when you never do?”

“I’m not tired from being in here. I’m still tired from when I was out there.”

“Oh. How come?”

“It’s a long story. Not a very nice one, either. I don’t want to make you sad or anything.”

“How come it’d make me sad?”

“Because everything out there makes you sad, Elli. That’s just the truth.”
