Can I Deliver

Can I Deliver

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about courage.

"

Can I Deliver?

I quiver,

As my heart stutters.

I blubber on and on,

But can I deliver?

Can my heart render

What it's contemplating?

Maybe my heart

 Is too tender?

Should I

Surrender?

It's hard for me

To comprehend

Even being here,

Much less being

A devoted member

Of this tragedy.

How Did I even

Get here?

Never have I got up the courage to ask anyone out, so I can't relate from an actual experience. "Can my heart render what it's contemplating?" I might have never tried it, but the thought seems terrifying. Good job.
