LONESTAR SUMMERS

LONESTAR SUMMERS

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A Texas love poem.

"

LONESTAR SUMMERS

french kissing

in the mystical glow

of the moonlight

after drinking

cherry wine

and dancing

all night on

the patio

of Ringo's Bar

skinny dipping

in the shady bayou

was the perfect

ending of a

long summer

night romance

in the badlands of

this Lonestar state

star smitten teenagers

shatter all of life’s rules

for a stab at love

when a full moon

hangs above

on these dawning hours

of their adult lives

taxing troubles

of this lonely world

will slither into their

existence soon enough

but for now their

wild stallions

blazing through the

dusty oil fields

with only passion

on their minds

Has a nice flow to it, and I love to read poems on other places and personal experiences. To me, they add more depth to a piece of writing, Keep up the good work!
