Swamp Blues

Swamp Blues

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A blues poem.

"

Rainbows don't grow in my heart anymore,

My circuit box died,

Red tulips grow there now.

My feet don't dance to the zydeco anymore,

They tap dance to their own beat instead.

My lips don't sing Cajun songs at the pool hall anymore,

They rap at the world on the corner instead.

Love doesn't grow in my heart anymore,

It glows like a fog light instead.
