Midnight Jazz

Midnight Jazz

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about jazz music.

"

Midnight Jazz

Walking these lonely streets

The saffron blues hit me in cool misty sheets

As the hypnotic rhythm of  music drifts

Out ofJazz Avenue.

East coast shag moves my restless feet

And swings my eager hips

Freeing the heavy rusted chain

Locked around my lonesome heart.

His curvy smile and the guide of

His fluid hand twirls me

In circles and with a

Wet kiss we meet to the

Band’s steady beat.

What a sweet and compelling poem Marie. It has a Jazzy rhythm and made me smile to see you dancing in the streets to my favorite music of all time. it reminds me of many cities I've visited and brought back many a fond memory. Jazz does have such a "freeing" quality about it and has always been very close to my heart-much like a
reliable provider of sustenance and hope. Wish I could of cut a rug with you and spun you around myself. thanks for sharing. This is a fun and happy write.
