Tar PitsA Poem by Marie HarrisonA poem about the tar pits.
sinking deep in
the tar pits of oil
near the streets of lala land
is where I'd like to be
tonight
as the black stew
bubbles and brews
I too could coo
until the stew
covers my lips
LA. is a great place
to mildew with the
ancient dinosaur pit
my cousins would
say I lost my wits
staring at those
stinky pits in the
streets of lala land
at least I went
down on my
own terms
no germs
to worry about
down deep
in the pits of LA
