Tumble me with

The other rocks

 

Make me

Smooth

 

Take away my

Rough edges

 

Make me into

Something beautiful

 

Something

Enjoyable to hold

 

Craft me into an example

Of a noble character

 

May people leave me

With a sparkle in their eye

 

Author's Note

When I was little, I got a rock tumbler for my birthday. I loved rocks any way. But I developed a fascination for tumbling rocks. I also collect rocks and shells from the beach. I have this one speckled rock that is so smooth and such a cool joy to hold and admire. I was thinking that is what our character is like, once it become refined. After years and years of lessons and mistakes, it developes into something beautiful for all to behold and enjoy. It takes years of tumbling to smooth out all of our rough edges.

This poem is done quite beautifully. All of us have rough edges from time to time due to the struggles that we endure in life. It makes us stronger but we have to remember to still be soft and let others in. This poem describes just those sentiments. I love how you use a rock for this poem to convey your message.
