Winter

Smoke lifts off the mountaintops

As the eagle rises for a brand new day

Children dream of summer’s rain

As baby calves eat their winter hay

Logs burn in the fireplace

While passionate love is made

Winter is slave to action

Where nature’s

Games are played

This really worked well. I have read a lot of winter poems lately. This one is my favorite so far.

What a great poem~such a great, cozy, "Baby Its Cold Outside" feel to it! I can just feel the heat from the....fireplace? LOL! Really, excellent poem!

Good write....:)
"Smoke lifts of mountaintops"...great first line of a poem, and good imagery.
and it continues on from there....til the ending..short and sweet!
