My Father’s An Old Fart

My Father is almost 70 now; his time on this planet is winding down.  I’d like for my last few memories of him to be good ones.  But that was shot to hell this week.

My time with him is limited.  He asks me why I’ve been so quiet this year?  “Why don’t you call more often?”

Yet, one thing he said to me last time he was here was something I can’t get out of my mind.  He said, “Whatever you don’t break, you s**t on.”  That makes me never want to ever talk to him or see him ever again.

This really made me chuckle! Especially the title, it really made me laugh! This is a really great piece here, very creative indeed and a good portration of this "olf fart" really did make me smile, very good work indeed mortal~

Okay, everyone is knocking me off my chair for many different reasons here tonight - first, you made me almost spray my drink from laughing with the picture and the title, but then you brought in the stark reality of a grumpy old fart with a nasty-a*s, sarcastic, belittling "style" of communication. Is there supposed to be a message in that there quote? Hugs to you, Love! Excellent poem. In my favs for sure...

People say things they regret.. and in his heart he loves you and wants you... I'm sure you have it in you to forgive and old man's folly... so that you will have no regrets when he finally goes...
