Christmas On The Plains

Christmas On The Plains

All is quiet

Snow drifts across the plains

Bobcat crouches ready to pounce for food

Black crows circle above

Horses sleep in peace in their stalls

Dog snores besides the fireside

Children cuddle in their beds

As Santa’s presents await them

Mom and Dad cherish the moment

To sleep in late

There is peace on the plains

I love the photo! Very sweet, almost like from a child's perspective...

Beautiful memories

Quite a nostalgic read (particularly of course for those like Marie who have lived on the plains), although a longer piece may have made a stronger impression on the reader? Well, I also awoke to snow and plenty of ice on Christmas morning. However, it was rather different for me - as I live in the Derby suburb of Allestree (England). Thankyou, for sharing some fond memories with us!

This sounds very peaceful, that moment in the beginning of a new day when excitement is just about to happen. I like it, like the picture you picked for this one too. A very pretty snow scene.
