Consume Me

Consume Me

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A snow poem

"

Consume Me

White mystical snow

Like sugar I yearn

To melt and

Become one

With you

Carry me away

To a better world

Where purity reigns

Never land magic swirls

And blows about

Freely in the

Blistery air

Where joyous

Smiles adorn all faces

Erase my

Own monotony

Clear pain and fear

From my memory

Inject me into a

Hard packed snowball

And Thrust me

Into the air with

Your power force

Consume me

Author's Note

Marie Harrison
I was watching the snow fall as I was walking a dog in it today. These thoughts came to me as I watched the snow. I just wanted to become like the snow. I wanted it to absorb me so a piece of me could be at peace forever.

When we get lost in moments with loved ones our troubles can feel miles away.

I guess we all feel like melting away from time to time... You used the idea of the snow and the snowball well... I can think of other ways of melting...

Interesting take on snow. I personally can't stand the stuff, but this paints a lovely picture of the lighter side of the snow. How it can it can change the look of a scene when it lands and sticks, that warm feeling of Christmas time evoked from that image. The purity of the total white the snow brings. It is like a cleansing of the land, a new day because it's completely different, like a cold version of a chili pepper spicing things up.
