Mandolin Strums

As you sing to me

Looking deeply into my eyes

Your smile is so sweet

I blush as you sing to me

I can see the love in your eyes

Happiness in your smile

You’re my Grandfather,

You’ll always be singing to me

When I close my eyes

Since you’ve died

All I can do is fantasize

My Grandparents used to sing to me all of the time, especially my Grandfather. He sang to me at the breakfast table, in the car, in the garden as I helped him. I loved it. I always remember watching his face as he sang to me. I remember the love and the joy that I saw from his eyes and face as he sang. It was beautiful. He played the mandolin too. It was very memorable for me. It's burned into my head, the sound of the mandolin and his voice.

Memories are precious, especially if you were around to enjoy them with your grandparents, some are not too fortunate to have these memories...

this was absolutely sweet and heartfelt, those nostalgic memories are really beautiful! i sure enjoyed this poem a lot, this was just amazing. i was wondering that if you perhaps added the soft sadness in mourning of your grandfather's demise, that would make this even better! awesome work!
