My HomeA Story by NoemiI love to sing, write, and listen to nature. Why not put it all together?Tears roll down my face as I sprint into the woods. Knowing I will never win, never know true happiness if I stay here. As I break through the trees I feel a sense of relief, and know this is where I belong. The only place I can truly be myself. I tear through thorn bushes, jump over fallen logs and never falter as I feel the wind on my face. Its sweet caress makes me feel safe, makes me feel wanted. I stop short of a tall pine and exhale. I close my eyes and begin to sing. The forest, normally alive with noise, becomes silent as stone as it listens to my wordless melodies. Slowly, the forest becomes alive again, alive with music. It sings along in perfect harmony, soft and soothing, something so beautiful, I listen and look around with awe. I sing with them, feeling buoyant and knowing I am accepted. As I slowly come to a stop, the forest's voice becomes quiet and slows to an end. I laugh; the tears no longer flowing, a smile on my face. This is where I belong. This is home. © 2015 NoemiAuthor's Note
