Turning To You

All these emotions are racing through me

At 100 mph

Don’t know what I should do

So I’m turning to you.

 

Guide me down the right path.

Lead me to where I’ll be safe and happy.

I put my life in your hands everyday

For you take my cares away.

 

All we need to do is trust in you.

That’s hard when we sometimes don’t trust ourselves

But trust

We must.

 

We believe that we are the ones in control.

“When will it happen?”

We ask constantly

But we’re too busy to wait for your answer.

 

“When will our ‘Someone Charming’ appear?

Will they come out of thin air?”

Then the phone rings

And you go to the waste side.

 

I think too much.

Of this I admit.

Think about everything I want my life to know.

Love- passionate and life changing-

Happiness

Success

Are just a few things on my list.

 

I know that they will come in time

So I’m turning to you.

I feel like i'm reading a description of myself in your poem. As if you were looking inside of my mind, to find the words to write this poem. Opening oneself up to others, is the hardest thing to do, if you have been badly hurt emotionally and physically in the past. Thank you for placing these words and thoughts in your poem.
