Alcohol is Great!

Alcohol gets me through good and bad times.

A time to celebrate.,

A time to feel remorse.

A time to get me through boredom.,

When the television sucks.

A time to lift my spirits.,

When I feel so low.

A time to give me courage.,

When I have none.

A time to lift my inspiration.,

Give me wild thoughts, I may not have before.

A time to be the person I never was.

A time to bring out all my emotions.,

Good or bad.

Say things I would never have said before.

A time, if out of control.,

To bring me down when I am my true self again.

I time for sorry and regret over all I have done.

A time to say, 'Never again!'

Alcohol is not always so great!

Fair go Woody., thanks for your reply.

I was writing from my own experience.

I enjoy both a glass (bottle) of wine and maybe the odd six-pack.

I do not drink everyday but on days that I don't I feel I have nothing to say. I just absorb all from TV etc. One could call that 'research'.

Yet for me to write – either here or to my local newspaper (in which I might add I am well known), I just need to have a drink or two. It somehow opens up my channels of thought.

Yet, at the same time I know that if I drink to much., I might wake up early the next morning regretting what I might have said on-line.

That was the true gist of my poem.
