Breaking up because Romance has left us

I’m breaking up with you. Whatever we have going on needs to stop now before we waste anymore of each other’s time. The spark we had between us is fading, I can feel it going, fast. Leaving us. I fell in love with your spontaneity, your random acts of adventure. 

But now you seem to be lazy in love. I lack interest in non-romantic people. And you are showing me that you are absolutely not romantic. You don’t romanticize me. You don’t shower me with flowers, you don’t surprise me with gifts. It seems you don’t feel the need to win me over. 

But that is boring for me. I mean you hardly even clean your room when you have me over. All you give me is physical touch and empty words of affirmation. 

It’s really hard to believe that someone loves me or wants to love me when their actions don’t show even a hint of that. It’s very opposite for me because I am a very romantic person, when I’m being romanticized that is, and I love that version of myself as a lover. Yet with you I tend to find myself pulling away. Not because I don’t like you but because I feel like you don’t want it enough to do what is necessary to bring it out. You have no desire and curiosity for me and it shows. 

You may like me but you do not desire me, not completely. Otherwise, you would smother me as a means to win me over. But you stand there as if I would never dare to leave when in reality there is nothing anchoring me down to stay.
