Just as Sure a Sign

Just as Sure a Sign

A Poem by N. Hadley

rotted yellow teeth are not
the only crystal clear signs
of addiction;
opulent white pearls clenched
in the clam of a smile are
just as sure a sign of a
worm-eaten brain, tunnels
bored for miles
