The Shower

My Attempt at poetry...not so good. I am so not a poet. LOL

 

 Warmth envelops me
The water cascades
Sensationally
Over me.

Steam blankets the air
While the light streaks through the curtain.

The humming of the fan
Distracts my thoughts;
I lose myself in the feverish rain
Pouring over me.

Scents of flowers and fruits
Surround me.

The sultry hands of the water
Massage me
I let them roam ravishingly
Over my wanton body.

A breathy sigh of contentment
Escapes my lips.

I close my eyes in blissful worship
to the waterfall.

The water caresses my body
Forming a puddle at my feet.

Reality returns as I step beyond the heat
Trapped behind the curtain
Onto the cold tiles of the floor.

Ecstasy has faded as quickly as it arrived

Ecstasy has faded as quickly as it arrived
Is that not the story of life ? How are we ever
to enjoy a good shower when the cold light of day
intrudes into our reverie.
This is a great poem, a poem which plays the sensual
against reality, unfortunately reality wins in your last line.
Excellent story, beautifully told.

This poem islow, passionate and most of all sensual. I love the flow. The flow felt like the shower and it was warm and easy moving. I loved it!
