Waves

Waves

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Waves break over black rocks,

Hammering weathered stone,

Beating, over and over,

An infinite drone.

Broken waves crash the shore,

White foam like mountain peaks,

One must dive through dark waters,

To find what I do seek.

A castle made of glass bricks

Rubbed smooth on the rocks

A garden of seaweed and pearls

And mermaids with golden locks

Seahorses gallop over sandy plains

Their noble heads held high

While young merchildren swim

Twisting upwards toward the sky

I let the tide carry me

Slowly back to the shore

Lest I forget myself

And stay under forever more
