Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Drowning

Is like

Flying

I feel the strength

Beneath my

Wings

But it isn’t

Mine

The water

Is coming quickly

Filling

My mouth

Throat

Lungs

My hands claw

Reaching

For help

That doesn’t

Come

That isn’t

There

My eyes

Stare

Wide

Open

The

Engulfing

Crushing

Blackness

Seems to go

On

Forever

Fear nibbles

My toes

But I push

It away

Then I let

Go

Stop

Struggling

If this is

Death

I am

Ready

I stretch out

My arms

And I

Fly

Into the

Coming

Darkness

This was quite interesting. A very unique way to describe drowning.
