Silence (In Retrospect)

Silence (In Retrospect)

A Poem by Cassidy Mask
"

Something i wrote a while ago... not sure whether i like it...

"

In retrospect

I realize that

Perhaps

Silence

Was not

The best idea

(Speak now or forever

Hold your peace)

In retrospect

I realize that

Perhaps

It was the

Silence

That killed us

(We sat in an empty room

With empty eyes)

In retrospect

I realize that

Perhaps

It was the

Silence

That fuelled the hate

(The flames engulfed our

Unsaid words)

In retrospect

I realize that

Perhaps

The silence was

The beginning

Not just the end

(The silent babe and the

Silent grave)

In retrospect

I realize that

Perhaps

Had I filled

The silence

It would have

Ended differently

(The grass is always

Greener…)

In retrospect

Silence

Was the motive

Behind the words
