Killing You (In My Dreams)

Killing You (In My Dreams)

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I killed you

(In my dreams)

Today

You lay in a pool

And I stood over you

(Is this what it is

To feel happy)

Your blood

Was wet on my hands

Warm and so red

I thought I would cry

With joy

But instead I laughed

(Perhaps not as happy

As I imagined)

I beat you

(In my head)

Today

My fists hammered

Your chest again and

Again

(Is this what it is

To feel free)

Until my hands bled

And your skin

Was a mottled plum

Every inch

A fresh bruise

The size of my hand

(Perhaps stronger than

I imagined)

I hurt you

(In real life)

Today

My words

Cut off your circulation

(Less violent than I

Imagined revenge)

You just stood there

Something close

To disbelief

Something way past

Pain

Tainting your features

(Is this what it is

To feel guilt…)

I personally wish you had used a different word than "purple", but that's just my opinion. I love the poem. I was true to human nature.

I can't wait for the song
