BrokenA Poem by Cassidy MaskI think i'm broken... I love you anyway He breathed
I think I’m broken She whispered to the moon Why’s that? Came the murmured reply. Because no body wants A broken toy And I think it must be the Same with little girls The moon was silent It knew not what to say I think I’m broken She shouted to the gale Why’s that? Came the howling reply Because when I smile At the mirror All I see is a cracked Replica of coldness The gale went on screaming Pretending not to hear I think I’m broken She said to her old friends Why’s that? They asked impassively Because when I try to speak It’s as though I have no voice You never hear me Even when I’m shouting That’s nice They replied Turning back to their painted nails I think I’m broken She whispered To no one in particular As she lay on the cold ground But someone was listening I love you anyway He breathed
