When The Cold...

When The Cold...

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

When the cold wind blows sharp

And the sharp air grows cold

I’ll turn my mind to you

And to those days of old

The winter sun shall shine

So pale in morning skies

As I gaze upon the ghost

Of your stormy grey eyes

I’ll remember those days

In a time long ago

When we’d talk of the future

How were we to know?

It all happened quickly

In one single night

You lay still and silent

Your eyes sightless white

You had no fear of death

And death it came to you

But feareth it I did

Still even now I do

So when the wind blows sharp

And the air grows steady cold

I’ll turn my mind to you

And to those days of old

That was the last winter you saw

Our very last winter together

Now I am alone in the cold

Your spirit has left me forever

They say that it’s time to move on

But time has moved past

And I’ve stayed the same

Now age has caught me at last

I can feel in my bones

That darkness that comes

The ache slowly fading

With the cold that numbs

You had no fear of death

And death it came to you

But feareth it I did

Still even now I do

this is beautiful, if you could give your rhyme pattern a true syllable structure, this poem would be heaven,
as it is now, a lil bland and cliche, but the talent is obvious and this poem still shines brightly!
