Fallen

A Poem Chapter... not too hard to work out who's POV it is...

I fell from some great height.

A rooftop,

A skyscraper,

Heaven,

Something like that.

 

I don’t remember

How it happened

Or why.

Just the dull ache

Of broken bones

And a broken heart

As I lay

Spread-eagled

In a pool of blood

By the side of the road.

 

I woke up

Yesterday

Or last year

Or some other

Measure of time ago.

 

But the worlds been

Pretty dark since

And I keep

Forgetting

Whether I’m really

Awake or if

I’ve been wandering around

With my eyes

Still closed.

 

I remember him though.

I wanted him to notice me

To look at me and see me

Instead of just staring

Blankly

At yet another empty face.

 

Only

I think I went too far.

I wanted to be powerful

To be beautiful

And strong.

But now I’m all alone.

 

I never meant pull the trigger.

I didn’t.

 

I swear.
