Billy Pig (You And Me Kid)

Billy Pig (You And Me Kid)

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Sun warmed skin

(And the feeling

That I’ve written this

A million times before)

Bare feet

Squishing mud

Between curled toes

(Two pairs of socks

And muddy walking boots)

Running

Grass and clover

Buttercups and daisies

Passing away

Beneath us

Billy pig is with me

He’s snuffling at the ground

Whining when I pull him away

(You’re such a baby

You silly piglet)

And the kids are gathered round

(Stroke his belly kids

But keep your hands from his head

He’s got teeth

Sharp like needles

And he’ll eat you up)

(You silly piglet)

What’s his name?

Is he a piglet?

(Well duh…

You ever seen a dog

With a nose like this?)

Look!

That lady’s walking a piglet!

(Lady?

Why thanking you kindly mam.

I’m more used to silly girl.

Silly piglet.)

Can we have a picture?

You

The Pig

The Boy

And The Grandma.

(Sorry mam.

Billy’s camera shy.

Hope I didn’t ruin your picture.

Hope you cut me out.)

Come on piggy this way now.

Lets run again

And hope they never catch us.

You’re a pig

Baby

And I’m the ‘Lady’

With the lead.

(Better get used to it pig

You’re stuck with me)

This way piggy

Billy

The sign says:

No unauthorised access

But you and me kid

(Not you silly goat)

You and me kid

We got friends

In high places

(I’m the lady

And you’re the piggy)

No unauthorised access

Means we’re safe now

The kids will never find us

(Silly goats.)
