Rosaline

Rosaline

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I stood beneath

A mourning moon

All veiled in darkest black

And in my hand

I held a rose

And dreams to bring him back

The flowers yellow petals

Stood out against

Dark skies

I knew not

That he watched me then

Well hid in his disguise

As ancient grief

Shook well my frame

New daylight dawned behind

And when I turned

To great it

A vision took my mind

He stood there silhouetted

Against this breaking dawn

And knowing it a vision

I felt my heart re-torn

But up he stepped

And took the rose

His fingers brushing mine

And breathed my name

Against my ear

‘My sweetest Rosaline’

Ooh I love this. I love the imagery

I stood beneath
A mourning moon
All veiled in darkest black
And in my hand
I held a rose
And dreams to bring him back

I love this, and hey, it's happy!
