Red Onions Are More Violent

Red Onions Are More Violent

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Red onions make me cry

Harder.

As I peel back purple skin,

Layers

Of translucent perfection,

Tears

Blur my vision

Till I can’t tell

Knife from hand

Chopping board from kitchen bench

Red onions are more

Violent.

A defence mechanism

That brings me to tears

My cheeks flooded

With liquid pain.

Red onions make me cry harder.

But you make me cry the worst.

Maybe I should stop

Trying to pull you apart.

The ending really was perfect!
"Red onions make me cry harder.
But you make me cry the worst.
Maybe I should stop
Trying to pull you apart."
That's amazing.
Excellent write!

Wow!
What a great metaphor! =O
At first I was like "Meh, this is a bit too complex for just red onions" thinking that that's all you were writing about. The ending bit was perfect though! It was like "bam! metaphor!" And that was awesome~
