Exaggeration

Exaggeration

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

This concrete city

Has a hold on me

That you

With your fickle notions

Will never understand

This molten sky

Has a claim on me

That you

With your narrow mindedness

Can never hope to know

This hammering tide

Has a grasp on me

That you

With your rationalizations

Can only misinterpret

But this beating heart

Has a grip on me

That you

Holding my hand over it

Are only too willing to exaggerate
