Heaven And A Bench That Overlooks The World

Heaven And A Bench That Overlooks The World

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I’m walking in the dawn

And there’s mist

So fine

It coats my skin

Before I realise it’s even there

And I’m climbing the hill

That leads to my souls

Desire

(Peace among the clouds)

And a bench that overlooks

The world

And as I climb

I’m wondering if I’ve lost

What I never had

(A place in your heart)

The only thing worth having

And I’m breathing in air

Laced with ice

As I ascend

Towards the heavens

And a bench that overlooks

The world.
