A Practising Word Searcher

A Practising Word Searcher

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Silence is easy

Like murder

And word searches

You just have to know how

The S two letters in from

The left

And four letters from the top

Is the beginning

Of the word

Suicide

(Another one that’s easy)

It goes diagonally

Down to the left

Ending abruptly with

The letter E

Like a sudden oblivion

Or a last breath

Cut short.

Silence is easier

Than making small-talk

With people

Who think I hate them

And murder is easier

Than living

With the mocking stares

Of those I despise

But word searches

Are the easiest of all

(Because I’ve had more practice)
