Advantageous.

Advantageous.

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

The world’s behind a mask

And not the paper plate kind

Like those we made as kids

With wobbly smiles of pink felt tip

And eyes

Like odd sized marbles

Coloured blue and brown

The world’s behind a mask

And I

Couldn’t care less

Unless I tried.

And you

Can’t even tell the difference

The world’s behind a mask

And there’s you

With your tight rope language

Like you couldn’t give a damn

And life’s just a coincidence

Consciousness

Just a possible state

Of being.

You with your legs like

Lolly sticks

Eyes like blueberries

And ‘you know what?

                A coma

                Might be advantageous.’
