Suicide Birds

Suicide Birds

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Wing tips that caress

Dead air

Eyes that see

The same in waking

And sleep

A nightmare spread below

Like a carefully crafted quilt.

Handmade.

And the skies are closed

Heavens gates bolted

Love taken flight

On wings like eagles

While the hummingbirds

And sparrows stay.

Abandoned.

Perching on the skyline

Watching the

Suicide birds

That dive in

Desperation.

Wings resolutely closed.
