The Pretentious Curl Of Your LipsA Poem by Cassidy Mask
You’ve got way too much
Time on your hands (Not to mention blood) And as you sit in the dark Writing poetry We can’t help but notice The pretentious curl of your lips. You pout And flutter your eyelashes And smile At your own reflection In the speckled glass Of the aged mirror That you deem Poetic enough To hold your image. And we fold our arms Unimpressed. Our lips turned down In a comical mockery Of your own. You’ve got way too much Time on your hands We observe Our eyes on your Stacks of Self portraits. You roll your eyes dramatically. Lip curled pretentiously. © 2010 Cassidy Mask |
