Eye Candy: A Love That Lasts (While You're In The Room)

Eye Candy: A Love That Lasts (While You're In The Room)

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

There was traffic

In the corridors

As you walked by

Girls of all ages

Eager to catch

Your eye

But you just laughed

And smiled

At their sighs

(To say you didn’t

Enjoy it

Would have been a lie)

There was traffic

In the corridors

On the day you died

And pretending

To be unaware you

Took it in your stride

If said then that

You were to die

It would have been denied

(Yet now your body’s

Lying still

Without a hint of pride)

There was traffic

In the corridors

The day after you died

Girls of all ages

Eager to catch

The eye

Of the school’s

New

Hottest guy.

geeeez. you're on a roll aren't you miss butter. i really like this, it's like, there's power and sadness but with resolve at the end to carry on and it's a mixture of so many emotions. wow.
