Mandarin With Rosetta

Mandarin With Rosetta

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I’m repeating after you

Like my life depends on it

Lips struggling to form

The unfamiliar words as I sit

Eyes glued to the screen

Headphones making my brain ache

While my mother shakes her head

‘You should take a break...’

But I can’t move, can’t stop

Can’t take my eyes off the screen

It’s addictive and it’s got me hooked

Like nothing I’ve ever seen
