Boy With Something To Prove

Boy With Something To Prove

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

You've got something to prove

And I’ve got no time

And no patience

For a boy like you

Screaming obscenities

At passing cars

Because you think

It will make you a man

You’ve got something to prove

But I’ve got no sympathy

For a boy like you

Shaking your fist

Like you’re up for the fight

While walking quickly

To get home

Before dark

You’ve got something to prove

But I’m not here for you

And I’ve got my own life

And my own

Failures

Without counting you and your

Obscene hand gestures

So go home

And play with your toy cars

You silly boy

You’re not ready for the

Big world yet
