What You Are

What You Are

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

You know you’re a killer

When you hold the knife

And your palm fits snug

Round the blade

You know you’re a fake

When you lie through your teeth

And your face washes off

In the rain

You know you’re a predator

When your eyes face forwards

And when you lick your lips

You taste blood

And you know you’re the prey

When the world goes dark

And you can’t hear

The beat of your heart

wow. that was really amazing to think about. The description of each example of a persona was genius. My favorite stanza was the one on the fakers. Really nice write!

I hate you sometimes. But don't worry, I love you more. That was awesome!
