Faith In Irrationality

Faith In Irrationality

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I talk like I own these words

But inside I stammer

‘Cause I have no opinion

And I’d rather you didn’t ask

Don’t you get it?

I’m a blank card

A nothing

No opinion. No personality.

An exiguous shell

A skin deep consciousness

Don’t ask questions

I haven’t been taught to answer

Because I might just

Have a breakdown

Experience an error

Fail to comply

I talk like a dictionary

Because I’ve been

Programmed to exude

Intelligence

But give me a question

Of morals

And I’ll show my true

Depth of character

Ignorance rules

I have no sense of proportion

Yet still you look to me

As a genius

Because you’re a strong

Believer in irrationality

And you’ll never lose faith
